Its A UV Cover Up! Shade Sails Suspected

By Lisa Renalds

Sails from ships was where the invention of the first shade sails originated. It was the enormous material that was locked in the corners. The development of the shade sails to protect us from the harmful UV rays is paramount for the bronzed Aussie. Australians are more prone to skin cancer than anyone else on the planet

Due to the Ultra violet rays intensifying in the midday sun we are more likely to do greater damage to our skin. Other forms of weather can also be minimized due to new technologies and advancements in shade sails to give us maximum sun protection.

An important term to remember and understand is Ultraviolet Protection Factor or UPF. Its the term for the rating the protection by a variety of materials to protect skin from Ultra Violet Rays. So that means that as the rating of the UPF goes up the longer the protection and the more effective the material is against UVR will be.

Can you follow a simple plan in how to erect a do it yourself shade sail kit. Not only can you add charm to your backyard but you are protecting your loved ones. You will find a list of items you would need below:

Scissors , Sewing Machine, Measuring tape, Post hole digger, Tarp Thread, 3 poles, Water, Wet Cement mix, Hardware, Rope

Step one: You need to measure out the area that you want to cover with the shade sail. Then calculate for the square footage of canvas tarp needed to cover the area. With the sewing machine, sew hems to prevent fraying.

Organise secondly your cement for the three holes and your poles. Use your post hole digger and make sure you put the poles in straight and let it set.

Step three: You are going to install the coupling hardware onto the poles.

Fourthly you use a rope on the corners at the edge using the hardware. What you want to do now is get your material and hoist it. Make sure the canvas is pulled pretty tight and then use your rope to attach to the poles
