How Do You Stop Smoking?

We all know the dangers of smoking and most people want to stop but just can't. They might find that even though they can get all kinds of diseases, they just can't seem to quit. This is because it is very addictive, but here are a few ways that you can stop smoking if you want to get healthy again.

The first thing you should do and this is also the easiest, is to find a nicotine gum or use a nicotine patch. These are helpful in curbing the addiction by actually feeding you some small doses of nicotine into your blood stream. This is not as dangerous and is meant as a way to slow down your intake until you eventually don't need them anymore. They are far safer than cigarettes because they don't affect the brain as much or as fast. With smoking a cigarette, the nicotine gets to your brain in about 6 seconds.

If you want to stop smoking it is said that these patches and gum products are the answer. They give you a sort of fix but it is not as dangerous as smoking a cigarette. They can however cause people more problems as they become addicted to the gum instead.

Now, if you are deadly serious about your need to stop smoking, then the cold turkey method is the nest way you may want to adopt. The nicotine patch and gums work, but they do take time. You will find that you may need to quit smoking quickly sometime as it is a requirement for a just application or because your life insurance will not cover you. In these cases, chuck the ciggies in the bin and lock yourself in the bathroom for a few days - just don't forget to eat.

Another way to cure smoking for good is to go to a hypnotherapist. These people are often seen as frauds, but many cigarette smokers actually admit that going under hypnosis cured them. They no longer feel the cravings that they used to and to them smoking is actually not nice any more. This is because the treatments are done in such a way to trick the brain into responding to smoking in a different way.

There are some other methods, but these are the best ones. They can be used as often as you need to and most of the time you will only need them once. When you find the method that works for you the best you should not give up. Keep trying and you will soon notice how energetic you feel. You will also prevent getting certain cancers and other illnesses like emphysema.

The best way to start a stop smoking program is to get someone to do it with you. You can help a family member or friend and this will make it easier for you too.
