Fast Depression Symptoms Help

By John Laney

Some types of depression are severe and dysfunctional. This means you don't have the energy or willpower to go to work or even get out of bed. If you are having severe symptoms, see a doctor immediately, there is good help available.

However, most types of depression are not dysfunctional. This means that you feel bad emotionally and perhaps physically, but you can still go to work and function socially. This type of depression is more common.

There are several things you can do to cure common depression symptoms, sometimes within 24 to 72 hours. Some of the cures are nutritional, and some are emotional, and some are physical.

To beat depression, one thing you can do is to make a few simple nutritional changes to your diet. The first nutritional change to make is to stop consuming refined white sugar.

White sugar can cause the blues. Eat a doughnut, your blood sugar levels spike high really fast, so your body releases extra insulin to lower your blood sugar levels. The extra insulin clears too much glucose from the blood stream, so you actually end up with low blood sugar.

Here's the thing most people don't understand. Depression symptoms like dark mood swings, low energy, and feelings of emptiness can be caused by low blood sugar. When the brain doesn't have enough glucose (or too much) it causes symptoms.

Now, low blood sugar is caused most often by refined white sugar. Refined white sugar hits the bloodstream with so much glucose that it is like an attack, we overproduce insulin to counter it, and the insulin we produce actually clears too much glucose out of the blood stream, and then we don't have enough to properly fuel the brain, causing the common symptoms of depression.

So if you want to feel better, cut out refined white sugar. You don't have to give up sweets, you can use natural sweeteners like stevia to sweeten food all you want. But if you are suffering from common depression symptoms, try this simple cure and see how you feel within 3 days. There's much more you can do to feel great, but this is a good start.
