Candida Diet - What Every Sufferer Should Know

By Luke Lister

Do you suffer from the annoying and sometimes painful symptoms of Candida. If you are new to the whole concept of Candida infection, then you are properly keen to make some changes and stop these symptoms now. But with so much conflicting information where do you begin.

The first truth you will learn about the Candida diet is that sugar feeds the Candida, and the goodness of fruit is no exception. Yes even fruit feeds Candida growth, so the first stage of Candida should avoid consumption of fruit. But after time you will find that you will be able to consume fruit once again, so don't worry.

The next step in the diet is to stop the spread of yeast by avoiding putting any more yeast into your body. Avoid yeast in bread and some sauces until the spread of infection is under control.

As well as stopping feeding the Candida, you need to face the fact the infection started because your immune system could no longer combat the problem. Certain meats suppress your immune system because they are pumped full of antibiotics, preservatives and hormones. Sprays used to kill bugs on vegetables can also suppress the immune, so the best thing to do is change your diet to an organic diet, with organic vegetables and meats.

The biggest things that lower your immune system however, are nicotine and alcohol.

You also need to avoid foods that can grow yeast like funguses, these would be mushrooms.

To top off the list you need to avoid mushrooms, non organic foods, alcohol, nicotine, yeast, sugar, and refined carbohydrates that stress the digestive system.

Try to think about natural organic foods, that are not refined. Leafy vegetables, herbs, fish, whole grains, seeds, sea vegetables and some organic meat.

Flushing your system with lots of water is essential to the diet, and it is a good idea to incorporate plenty of garlic since it kills Candida cells. This program really can be interesting if you understand the foods you can eat and are willing to experiment with recipes.

You may have to put in a little effort, and make your own meals. The biggest cause of Candida is low quality refined foods on the supermarket shelves, and fast foods that are low in nutrition and high in immune suppressing ingredients.

This epidemic was brought upon us because of the constant need for cheap, quick and simple food. When you begin to realize where to look to find good food, and feel the difference it makes you will relish your new lifestyle.

Change is difficult, but once the habit is made you will appreciate the new lifestyle.
