What Are Hemorrhoids - Are They Dangerous

By Ai Qin

What are hemorrhoids these are grape like bundles of swollen and bleeding tissues and varicose veins which itch and are very painful. They occur in the area of the rectum and anus. This condition if left can become very problematic with time but this need not happen and can be prevented naturally if treated within the early stages.

You are looking globally at around ninety percent of people suffer from hemorrhoids which in the case of women is more common. Many healthy people end up getting hemorrhoids and are usually diagnosed when the go for a yearly physical check up to their physician.

There are around 80 per cent of people globally who suffer from hemorrhoids and women who have had children usually experience hemorrhoids temporarily. There are times where these come and go within a few days but then coul eventually return with a vengeance. Some people experience the symptoms and some don't.

Then there are external hemorrhoids which can be seen and hang outside of the anus entrance and have a blue grape appearance which is basically a group of veins that have swollen up like a balloons. You don't necessarily have to have any immediate symptoms the only time you will realise that there are external hemorrhoids is when they become inflamed, red and very tender.

If you are suffering from internal hemorrhoids you might experience what they call a prolapsed internal hemorrhoid meaning that they have come through the anal passage and out when one strains while trying to have a bowel movement. It is extremely difficult to push these hemorrhoids back inside the rectum because it is a very painful procedure.

Hemorrhoids are common in both men and women especially pregnant women due to the pressure of the fetes which ultimately lies against the abdominal wall and of course hormonal changes can cause the anal vessels to enlargen and when giving birth this places an enormous amount of pressure on these vessels which is almost always temporary in most cases.

Should any of these symptoms sound familiar then it is suggested you go and see a professional or your general practitioner and receive treatment. This will eliminate the symptoms of itching swelling and bleeding normalizing your life again. Now you don't have to wonder what are hemorrhoids.
