Pain is a common feeling, a feeling that is unwanted. Pain is a subjective sign; it depends on the pain tolerance and threshold of a person on how he describes pain. The two types of Hemorrhoids are internal and external. Internal is painless but can also bleed. If it cannot be put back inside, surgical treatment is considered. External Hemorrhoids meanwhile is painful due to veins present around the anus. They are itchy, can crack and bleed. If there is already a formation of a blood clot, one can feel a tender lump and bright red blood bleeding can occur.

How can you prevent Hemorrhoids? One, consume a high fiber diet. Include green leafy vegetables, fruits, breads and cereals that have whole grains sources. Second, drink adequate amounts of liquids especially water, ideal will be eight-ten glasses of water, Third, don't sit too long and when you are in the toilet avoid straining ; it promote swelling. Fourth, Exercise regularly. Ambulation encourages bowel movement. Fifth, Avoid Laxatives. Other types of laxatives other than bulk-forming laxatives can cause diarrhea that worsens hemorrhoids. Last, if you feel the urge to defecate, don't wait too long to pass it out.

So how can you relieve hemorrhoidal pain? Take hot sitz bath around 2-3 times a day. Use a moistened tissue or wet wipes when cleaning your anus. Use of ice packs for swelling can be of help. Analgesics can also be taken to ease the pain, as well as Creams with hydrocortisone for itchiness and pain. Witch hazel containing creams, topical analgesics are also used.
